This policy explains refunds in plain language. It is not legal advice and does not limit any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
This Refund Policy explains when and how you can obtain a refund for purchases made on Artificane ("Artificane", "we", "us"). It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service (/terms). Where this policy and the Terms differ on refunds, this policy controls.
Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory statutory consumer rights you have in your country of residence. Those rights always apply in addition to what is described here.
Artificane Pro subscriptions and AI generation credits are sold by Artificane through Paddle.com, which acts as our Merchant of Record (the authorized reseller of these products). Paddle handles billing, payment, and tax for these purchases, and is referenced on your receipt and card statement.
Marketplace purchases — prompts, licenses, and courses listed by independent creators — are processed separately through Stripe. For these, the creator is the seller; Artificane provides the marketplace infrastructure only.
Because the seller and processor differ between these two categories, the refund rules for each are set out separately below.
You can cancel an Artificane Pro subscription at any time from /settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Subscription fees are not pro-rated for partial periods unless required by law.
If you were charged in error, charged after cancelling, or experienced a billing fault, contact us within 14 days and we will refund the affected charge in full.
Outside those cases, refunds of subscription fees are at our reasonable discretion. Consumers in the EEA and UK additionally have the statutory right of withdrawal described in Section 6.
AI credits are consumable digital goods that are used to render videos and run generation tools. Unused credit packs can be refunded within 14 days of purchase, provided no credits from that pack have been spent.
Once credits have been consumed (in whole or in part) to generate output, the consumed credits are non-refundable, because the underlying compute has already been delivered. Promotional, bonus, and referral-granted credits have no cash value and are never refundable.
Marketplace items are sold by independent creators, not by Artificane. Because a prompt or license is delivered to you immediately as digital content, these sales are generally final once access has been granted.
If an item was materially not as described, was inaccessible, or was sold without the rights the seller claimed, contact us at support@artificane.com and we will investigate and, where appropriate, facilitate a refund through the seller. Your statutory rights against a seller who is acting as a trader are unaffected.
If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, you generally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content or services bought directly from Artificane (such as Artificane Pro or AI credits).
When you buy and request immediate access, you expressly ask us to begin performance during the withdrawal period and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed, or — for digital content such as credits — once generation has begun with your prior consent.
To exercise this right before performance is complete, contact billing@artificane.com with your order details.
Email billing@artificane.com from the address on your account, including your order or receipt reference and the reason for the request. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method through the relevant processor (Paddle for Pro and credits; Stripe for marketplace items). The time for the refund to appear depends on your bank or card issuer.
If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first — we can usually resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may result in suspension of your account pending resolution. This does not affect your right to dispute a charge with your bank where the law gives you that right.
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or an in-app notice before they take effect, and the "Last updated" date below will change. The policy in force at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.
